The primary component of castor oil is ricinoleic acid (C18H34O3), which makes up nearly 90% of its fatty acid content. This unique hydroxylated fatty acid provides superior lubricity and chemical reactivity, distinguishing castor oil from other vegetable oils. During production, castor seeds are cleaned, dried, and mechanically pressed to extract crude oil. The extracted oil then undergoes filtration and neutralization to remove impurities, followed by degumming and bleaching for clarity and consistency.
